'I am very conscious of all that has happened in art during the last seventy-five years. I don't ignore it; I feel I've tried to assimilate it into my kind of art.' David Hockney
David Hazelgrove graduated from Cardiff School of Art and Design after completing a BA (Hons) Illustration degree. He now works as a freelance artist, one whose inspiration comes from people and their interaction within the environment they occupy. His work aims to experiment with both the abstract and the representational, portraying the world as he sees it. His ultimate goal is to discover for himself a connection with the world by seeking to explore it, examine it and portray it through his own interpretation and imagination. What lies at the heart of his work is the isolation, the struggle, the experience and his interpretation of our society.
